As a staff member at Camp Cherith , you'll find a Christian atmosphere with mutual helpfulness and support. All staff members value, respect, and encourage each other. Any staff member, from counselor to director, recognizes that campers' growth in Jesus Christ is their primary responsibility
Serving on the staff at Camp Cherith is a great way to serve the Lord. There are full-time and part-time opportunities for men and women of college age and above. Adults may come for a week or two at a time while their children enjoy the fun of being campers. Opportunities are also available for adults who have children who are too young to be campers--please ask the camp director.
Knowledge of Christ as personal Savior and desire to serve Him...emotional maturity...physical stamina...good moral character...enjoyment of outdoor living...ability to place campers' needs ahead of personal desires...ability to work as a member of a group...skills and abilities for specific responsibilities...interest in meeting camp objectives...enthusiasm and loyalty...flexibility -- willingness to assist outside one's specialty; to change plans or take a different duty if requested. You must be through one year of college or in the work force for one year.
A vital part of camp preparation takes place at pre-camp training. Counselors receive complete Bible study curriculum to prepare daily lessons and activity leaders are equipped with lesson plans and resources. Staff will find themselves being ministered to .

Cabin counselors - Work with a group of 6-8 campers in a cabin group to help them learn what a Christian is and what a Christian does in their daily lives to grow in Christ. teach activities that we will teach you. SALARY. Includes staff training for two weeks. Prerequisite: Christian, at least 1 year of college education.
Activity Specialists - Work with campers in small groups to teach activities that include special training which we will provide. Become involved with the activities of camp besides just your specialty. Prerequisite: Christian, 1 year of college. SALARY
WE WILL PROVIDE TRAINING AND/OR CERTIFICATION FOR THE FOLLOWING:
Horsemanship - (Must be at least 21 years old) - You will teach Western/English, ring riding to girls entering 5-12th grade. We teach according to the level of skill that a child or youth has. We will teach you to teach. SALARY.
Archery - This position would be combined with cabin counseling. Small classes. Target archery. AAU or CAA. We will teach you to teach. SALARY
Riflery - NRA instruction combined with cabin counseling. Small classes. Target riflery. We will teach you to teach. SALARY
Lifeguards - We will train if you are not already trained. CPR and First Aid also included in training. Combined with cabin counseling experience. SALARY
Crafts - If you are an artistic person, going to be teaching Art Ed., this would be a fun way to learn and teach and use your creative skills to teach children. Crafts including wood crafts, paper crafts, beads, stamping, and a whole lot more. We do the planning of ideas - you teach. We will teach you to teach. SALARY
Nature - Teach children about God in creation. We have the plans. You teach small classes using skills that you have learned in college. SALARY
Head Cook - Cook family style meals in a well-outfitted camp kitchen. Head Cook needs to know about how to delegate, cook, and be willing to sacrifice working an 8 hour job for the needs of a group of 100-125 people each week for 8 weeks (not easy, but very rewarding). SALARY
Nurse - Registered nurses needed for each week or stay all summer. 2 camperships for children that you might have in lieu of salary or if no children, SALARY.
